The Women's Federation of Chengdu City (in Southwest China's Sichuan Province) and the People's Government of Wuhou District (in Chengdu) announced to hold "Famous City for Cultural Creativity — First International Women's Art Festival" in March, 2020, at a recent press conference in Chengdu.

The festival aims to showcase the unique cultural and artistic talents of women in Chengdu and also promote the development of Chengdu as a beautiful garden city and a world-famous cultural center.

Huang Xiaojing,Vice-President of the city's women's federation, said that the 2020 art festival will be a key event in Chengdu to mark the 110th anniversary of International Women's Day.

"The art festival will include an opening ceremony, an award ceremony for a cultural design competition, a forum on city park construction, an artwork exhibition and a series of cultural activities," she said, adding that Chengdu's districts and counties will also hold various women-led cultural and artistic activities.

The design competition themed "Chengdu That Can Be Taken Away" has collected more than 600 pieces of works so far, and will continue to take submissions until January 8, 2020. Additionally, the slogan, logo and posters of the art festival are being collected online.
